STAR*track: Support and Networks to Accelerate the Construction and Renovation Innovation in Europe
Objectifs
The STAR*track project, which builds on the NEBULA project, aims to establish European clusters known as B4PICs to support companies in their research and development efforts. The goal is to promote the marketing of innovative solutions for sustainable building. The project includes the creation of six new clusters across Europe, located in Greece, Denmark, Italy, and Slovenia.
The main objectives of the project are to:
- Develop and strengthen the network of B4PICs throughout Europe.
- Facilitate access to public and private funding for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the sector.
- Promote the advancement of sustainable innovations in construction and renovation.
- Improve access to testing facilities in Europe to accelerate the market introduction of innovative solutions.
- Contribute to achieving zero carbon emissions in Europe by 2050.
Expected results
The project aims to consolidate existing clusters such as B4PIC in New Aquitaine, Euskadi, and Navarre. By 2028, we expect to have 10 to 15 operational clusters across Europe.
Additionally, the project seeks to improve access to testing and demonstration services through collaboration with three OITBs (European Open Innovation Testbeds for Buildings), providing support to several companies. This initiative will promote the marketing of innovations in sustainable construction using the METABUILDING platform.
Mission
As the coordinator, NOBATEK is responsible for the technical implementation of the project, as well as the administrative and financial management of a consortium of international partners.
On the technical side, NOBATEK must ensure that the innovative clusters developed as part of NEBULA and/or STAR*track are fully established. This involves supporting the creation of new clusters and facilitating knowledge transfer to existing clusters to help them mature.
Funding
1M€. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 101147509.
